My favorite place to eat at Fashion Island. I love the French Dip Sandwich. The bread is excellent and meat is juicy and tender. Great horse radish spread. The other sandwich are great too including the chicken sandwich. Downside - sandwich are a la carte so it doesn't come with a side. For a $25 sandwich, you'd think they would give you a side of French fries, but no. Not here!
Out of all the years we have lived in south Orange County we ended up at R+D Kitchen and had an absolutely AMAZING experience. Our server, Taylor, had a great personality and made us feel extremely welcomed from the start. Anthony, another server, was also amazing at checking in on us and making sure we were having the top-experience that this restaurant delivers. Food was delicious and our drinks were great. We were on a time-limit due to a movie but still wanted dessert, so we asked for a carrot cake to-go and enjoyed that in the moved - which DID NOT disappoint! Looking forward to our next visit there.
Popped in during late lunch Sunday afternoon around 2pm. Wanted a quick bite at the bar and we ordered some sides and a salad to share. Their classic margarita is refreshing and perfect to sip on. Loved the deviled eggs, easily could have had a second serving. We didn't realized the chicken meatballs came with polenta, so we didn't need to order a whole side of it, but it was great. The Newporter Salad was light, crisp and tasty. Our bartender was attentive, quick and nice, sitting at the bar is a good move if there is ever a wait. They have a good patio for seating if you plan on dining outside the bar. Will easily be back
Came here for dinner after church and we had. Lovely time. Make sure you make reservations as this place gets packed. Good older crowd and more sophisticated. Bathrooms are super clean and parking is super easy. . Got the veggie burger and must say the best I have gad so far. Better than Joeys!! Will be back here again. Trust!!
Another great quick dinner at our fam favorite R&D in fashion island. We were seated outside promptly after arrival. The menu has slightly changed. We ordered the usual cheeseburger which is a fan favorite and the roast beef au jus. We also ordered for the first time the carnitas sandwich which was not a hit with our fam. It just doesn't have the same flavors as the chicken sandwich or the cheeseburger. I also got one of their daily specials which was the tuna salad sandwich which came of a toasted white sandwich bread. We all got the first and their coleslaw as sides. Tuna salad was a bit too much on the sweet side and didn't have a good crunch. The food tonight was 4 stars and the service from MicaelAnn was a 5 star. Will stick to the chicken sandwich next time. Prices seem to have stabilized after the big jump over the last couple of years. Cheeseburger is $21.
Food - as my experience has been similar as I have gone to my go to. Tuna tartare and Dip Duo. Service - always top notch and on point! Ambience - cozy classy casual Verdict - YES!
